Communications & Engagement Manager - Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner
We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Communications and Engagement Manager for the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) who will give their all in a fast paced and enjoyable role. A communications professional to the core, you will be tasked with promoting the Police and Crime Commissioner’s work which has a wide scale and hugely positive impact on communities across the Thames Valley. You will lead on PR for the Police and Crime Commissioner, supporting his response to public and media comment in what is a high profile role. You will lead a team of Communications experts and drive the PR agenda for the Office in this position.
The successful candidate will be adept at media management, crisis communications, event management, public engagement and have a proven track record with big hitting campaigns. You will also have knowledge and experience of public and stakeholder engagement practices and techniques and be able to assess their effectiveness and value. You will have a nationally recognised qualification or equivalent relevant experience in communications, public relations or journalism together with experience of organising and managing such activities in a complex working environment.
It is essential you have good IT skills including Microsoft Office with the ability to develop and maintain web pages as well as experience of working in digital and social media. Previous experience of senior management decision making is needed along with the ability and experience to interpret and communicate complex issues and information to a non-technical audience.
We want someone who is flexible, given that some events are in the evenings and weekends, and who is happy to travel across the Thames Valley as and when needed, requiring a full UK driving licence.
