Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTP SE) provide specialist expertise on financial investigations to counter terrorist investigations across the South East Region. 

As a Senior Financial Investigator on CTPSE you will supervise and undertake proactive and reactive financial investigations to identify links to terrorist or extremist organisations. Ensure operational performance complies with legislation, policy and best practice.

In the role you will be expected to manage the casework of the financial investigators while keeping the unit head appraised of case progress and capacity of the team to take on new cases. You will lead a team of financial investigators where you will be responsible for leading their personal development through training and mentoring. As well as working closely with your team you will report to the Senior Investigating Officers and assist officers with their financial strategy and tactical options utilising knowledge of relevant legislation to assist in the prosecution of a case.

You will be required to liaise closely with stakeholder agencies and partner bodies including HMRC, financial institutions and other relevant agencies.

You will be required to handle intelligence material from partner agencies, operating accordingly to both legal and operational restrictions, ensuring any intelligence identified is correctly recorded and disseminated.

We are looking for a candidate with excellent interpersonal skills to maintain the strong working relationships with internal colleagues and external agencies.

Due to the nature of the role you will have recent experience of working within financial investigations or comparable role.  You are required to be an accredited financial investigator with comprehensive knowledge of legislation and working practices in confiscation proceedings. Operation experience of investigative work from collection to presentation of evidence for court.

You must be willing and able to successfully complete a series of CT training courses in financial investigation if not already trained.

You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. For this reason a full UK Driving Licence is essential to the role. You will be also required to perform on-call arrangements for immediate response as required across the South East region.

Security is of paramount importance to us due to the nature of the role. You need to be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years.  Exemptions apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.  You will be required to successfully pass and maintain the relevant security clearance in order to perform the role.
