Applications are invited for a First Aid Trainer based at Sulhamstead to share responsibility for developing Police Officers, Staff and Volunteers. The post holder will be responsible for delivering a Force-wide specialist capability that enables delivery of First Aid training as identified by the Force Resilience Panel and to officers within specialist roles.

You will hold a FAW certificate or higher qualification and ideally have practical experience within the First Aid arena.

You will be self confident and have a proven ability to facilitate learning and respond to individual learning needs with the ability to present information and ideas in a variety of formats to large groups of people effectively and persuasively. You should have a strong desire and proven experience of developing other people and an ability to adopt a range of leadership and training styles. You must be self-motivated and able to work well as part of a team and independently. In this post you will work closely with the Local Area Training Team and other teams within Learning & Development to ensure an integrated approach is maintained to the development of TVP staff. You will also support development of the curriculum through work done with colleagues, the Design Team and subject matter experts to review training materials in accordance with current policy and procedures. Excellent communication skills, IT literacy with proficient use of Microsoft Office packages is essential.

Qualification for the post is dependent upon successful completion of the TVP Trainer Development Programme (TDP) which incorporates the QCF level 3 Certificate in L&D and QCF level 3 Assessor Award. You should be able to evidence working towards or attainment of these qualifications or their equivalents and must be prepared to undergo further relevant training and development as required. A full UK driving licence is essential as is the requirement to pass a Basic Driving Assessment. You will be required to travel to different locations across the force and may undertake evening and weekend working as determined by business need.
