TVP ECU

The TVP ECU is made up of five teams: North and South Investigations Teams, the Criminal Finance Team and the North and South Asset Recovery Teams. These are geographically based between HQ North and Loddon Valley. In 2021 these teams were collaborated into the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit and, together with their colleagues who have regional jurisdiction, form the South East Regional Economic Crime Unit.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective specialist service to meet the criteria laid down in the Economic Crime Unit Terms of Reference.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • In consultation with the Detective Sergeant, identify cases suitable for investigation by the Economic Crime Unit.
  • To provide an efficient, effective and professional standard of investigation into cases accepted by the ECU.
  • To provide professional advice guidance and assistance to LPAs regarding financial crime, financial intelligence and investigations.
  • To initiate and maintain clear investigation plans ensuring that all enquiries are recorded.
  • Prepare and present prosecution files in response to allocated work. Liaising with partners as necessary.

Essential Role Based Training: 

  • National Fraud Investigation (code NFI)
  • Financial Intelligence Officer (code FIO)

Essential Training Prior to Appointment: 

  • ICILDP Programme

Vetting:

Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.

If you are currently in a Force critical post, there is an expectation that you will remain in that post for a minimum of two years before applying to change roles (or 18 months for custody sergeants).

Candidates may be required to pass vetting and OHU or attend assessments and courses for this role. If any of these are failed the candidate will be posted back to a response role on an LPA. Postings are determined in accordance with organisational need although consideration will be given to personal circumstances.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice.
