There is significant change underway together with daily challenges of complex policing issues. The team’s expertise has never been in greater demand with the importance of clear, targeted and timely communications, and employee wellbeing well supported.

We have a 12 month opportunity as a Communications Officer in the Employee Engagement team in Corporate Communications. This is to backfill a secondment.

In this role, you will work with officers and staff to understand their requirements and support or enable effective comms and engagement via force channels or advice on activity they can undertake directly. You will be responsible for the timely and effective day to day delivery and enablement of employee engagement and communications. As well as supporting our business as usual activity, you will take the lead on planning and delivering short term communications projects, providing specialist advice where required. The successful candidate will have excellent written communication and interpersonal skills as well as proven skills in working on your own initiative and of developing and delivering effective advice, guidance and activity to meet audience needs and force objectives.

If you are a permanent member of staff applying for this role, please note it will be offered on a secondment basis. If the secondment is not supported then a strong business rationale must be sent to RecruitmentPoliceStaff@thamesvalley.police.uk quoting the reference number for the role.

Please note: Shift allowance, on-call or other job related allowances from the previous role will not be protected unless they are attached to the new role for the duration of the secondment.
