This is a rare opportunity for a Regional People Advisor to be part of our Business Support Team, supporting two specialist regional units that protect communities from the threats of serious organised crime, terrorism and domestic extremism.

As Regional People Advisor you will be working to deliver a comprehensive and specialist HR advisory service to two specialist regional units across the South East region, with accountability for a specific case load.

You will effectively engage with managers and staff to provide a specialist HR advisory service that complies with policy and employment legislation on a wide range of issues, for example recruitment, resourcing, employee relations, flexible working, and career development. Working with colleagues, you will support and develop solutions to specific challenges, driving the people strategy. This will involve undertaking specific projects involving research, analysis, report writing, attending meetings and organising events.

The successful candidate will be CIPD Qualified (or equivalent) or working towards a Level 5 CIPD Qualification, with proven participation and interest in continued professional development. There is potential for study support to be provided. With experience of working within HR and providing advice to managers and employees on a diverse range of issues, you will be able to act as a point of contact and support others through contentious or complex issues and remain emotionally resilient.

We are committed to becoming the most diverse team in the South East. We encourage interest and applications from candidates of all backgrounds and particularly welcome applications from BAME (black, Asian and minority ethic) candidates to enable us to truly reflect the communities we serve.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may occasionally be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand.

For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or acquire appropriate security clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. As such, in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.
