Counter Terrorism Border Policing is pivotal to providing frontline protection of national security from the threats posed by Terrorism and Serious & Organised Crime at the UK Border.  The CTP-SE Borders Analyst will advise and assist in all aspects of CT Border Policing providing strategic and tactical analysis to determine threats, risks and emerging issues, and identify intelligence-led opportunities to help mitigate these threats across its South East ports.

In this role, you will provide high level analytical support to senior operational police officers to assist in the prevention, targeting, disruption and detection of crime.

You will use analytical techniques to create intelligence products to inform relevant strategic and tactical planning to the standard defined within the National Intelligence Model.

You will provide efficient and effective service to support managerial, operational and investigative decision making. You will make recommendations to drive business activity and assess threat harm and risk.

You will have substantive current role-related experience as an Analyst in a police environment/partnership agency with excellent understanding of the National Intelligence Model (NIM). You will have a relevant professional qualification and completion of the National Intelligence Analyst training. Excellent communication, problem-solving, proven research skills are essential to the role.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetting (DV) level. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.
