Chiltern Transport Consortium provides a cross-border shared service and all fleet support functions for 5 police forces over 6 shire counties covering Thames Valley, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Civil Nuclear Constabulary and Hertfordshire. It’s an innovative and successful initiative that continues to provide these forces with a performance-led fleet service.

We are now looking for a Fleet Services Officer to provide the members of Chiltern Transport Consortium (CTC) with a comprehensive business, administrative and vehicle fleet management support function.  You will manage and oversee the vehicle records on the fleet management database, ensuring all vehicle and workshop data is entered correctly.  Overseeing the Hire Vehicles process you will liaise with customers and suppliers to ensure the most economic and viable service option.  Managing the vehicle accident process you will ensure that claims are processed efficiently.  You will also manage the vehicle fuel systems and the Artemis Telematics system.  You will be able to develop staff within the Fleet Services Department.

The successful candidate will have a suitable qualification or relevant experience in the motor vehicle industry and fleet management activities, ideally having worked in a junior management position with experience of budget management, business planning, performance management, business continuity and health and safety.  Experienced in preparing and writing reports, policies and procedures together with experience of public sector accounting, procurement and financial regulations along with being able to build working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  You will be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and have experience of fleet software such as Tranman, Artemis, Seagate Crystal and other fleet logistic packages.  A full driving licence is considered essential as capability to travel across the CTC member Forces is required in order to undertake assignments in a timely manner and work flexibly.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice.
