The Emergency Services Mobile Communications Programme (ESMCP) will replace Airwave with a new 4G-based digital network, known as Emergency Services Network (ESN).  The South East and South Central Regional Programme covers Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire and Thames Valley.

This is an exciting time for ESMCP, with the green light from the Home Office for Airwave shut down by December 2022.

We are looking to recruit a talented and motivated Project Support Officer for this high profile transformational Programme. This role is required in order to co-ordinate the Airwave database to assist in the device resilience, inventory and audit activity required for the Emergency Services Mobile Communications Programme (ESMCP) across Thames Valley, Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex Police Forces.

Candidates must have excellent communication skills and a team player who is flexible and adaptable and can work with little supervision. Good IT skills are essential, especially in the MS Office Suite. Proficient in the use of MS Excel which enables you to create, populate and manipulate large data sets.

Candidates will be required to travel across the four Force areas. An enhanced level of vetting is required for all roles on the team.

As part of the Thames Valley Police family you will enjoy a fantastic range of benefits including 22-30 days annual leave per annum (plus Bank Holidays), flexible working conditions, performance related pay increases, a wide range of lifestyle discounts, career development opportunities and have the option to join a local government pension scheme. For internal candidates: If you are a permanent member of staff applying for this role, please note it will be offered on a secondment basis. If the secondment is not supported then a strong business rationale must be sent to recruitmentpolicestaff@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk quoting the reference number for the role.  Please note: Shift allowance, on-call or other job related allowances from the previous role will not be protected unless they are attached to the new role for the duration of the secondment.
