Secondment/Fixed Term Contract until 31st August 2021

Surrey, Sussex and Thames Valley Police are entering into the first Tri-force, cloud based procurement and implementation of a new single ERP solution (IT system covering HR, Finance, Learning & Development, Duties, Fleet and Procurement). This is a large scale, business critical project covering six counties in England; with scope for a further 32 public sector organisations to procure the same selected solution over the course of the contract period. A new single instance ERP is undoubtedly a key enabler to driving efficiencies within the back office as well as delivering significant operational benefits to front line policing.

This is an opportunity to be part of an innovative, forward thinking collaborative team who are striving to make the most of cutting edge technology to drive back office transformation and deliver significant benefits to frontline policing. The ERP project offers an exciting opportunity for a proactive, organised, highly self-motivated individual to join a high profile, transformational venture. The organisation is looking to recruit a Testing Supervisor to support and co-ordinate the ERP testing workstream.

Whilst candidates do not require specific technical IT skills, proven experience in a testing environment within a project will be a distinct advantage. In addition the applicant must have strong oral and written communication skills, with high attention to detail and experience of the operation of a busy team environment. General policing knowledge and project support experience is preferential but not mandatory.

The post holder will be responsible for providing programme supervision and support services across the Tri-Force ERP transformational change programme and specifically the Testing workstream. The role will work for and under the direction of the Tri-Force ERP Programme Test Manager. The Testing Supervisor will be responsible for the day to day operation of the Programme Test plan and will ensure that the key programme and project management delivers definitions, plans, organisation diagrams, progress reports, issue and risk logs. Liaising with external consultants and suppliers will also form part of the role.

The post holder will have an awareness of the testing activities required to deliver a complex IT programme and experience of testing administration. Demonstrable sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently, with ever moving deadlines within an organised and methodical approach is also essential. Openness to change and proactivity are key. Strong communication skills, with the ability to write reports, correspondence and deliver presentations to a high standard. Good interpersonal skills and a flexible approach to work. Proficient in the use of MS Office products Excel, Word, Outlook and Project software, with the ability to manipulate spreadsheets.
