Exciting new opportunities have arisen to join our Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) team as an Internet Intelligence & Investigations (III) Specialist.

The III Specialist role is an exciting, varied and challenging role. Conducting specialist research and providing technical and specialist advice to many different stakeholders, both internal and external, to mitigate harm in protecting national security from the threats posed by terrorism.

We are looking for outgoing, proactive and flexible candidates with a can-do attitude. The ideal candidate will be a good team player with relevant experience in an intelligence environment. You will be required to:

  • Identify, assess and parallel source information and intelligence on individuals and organisations potentially linked to terrorism and extremism using specialist III research using advanced open source tools and techniques.
  • Provide technical and specialist advice to Senior Investigating Officers, other departments and law enforcement partners to identify and exploit online opportunities to further investigations and mitigate harm to the UK caused by terrorism and extremism.
  • Support live operational activity with real time III research, online monitoring, horizon scanning and live time evidential capture and evaluation of information.
  • Deliver the Covert Open Source Internet Investigations (COSII) course to CTPSE and wider CTP network.
  • Work as part of a team to be proactive and take responsibility for researching ideologies and emerging internet-based technology, considering the impact of this on terrorist and extremist activity and communicating any changes with key customers.

Please refer to the attached job description for a full outline of the role.

Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.
