The Sensitive Intelligence Unit (SIU) is part of a national infrastructure set up to provide a single intelligence picture of the threat posed by serious and organised crime in the South East.

In this role you will gather, develop and disseminate intelligence to support the disruption of serious and organised criminality within the UK in line with National, Regional and Force organisational priorities. You will develop and maintain productive working relationships with key partners to maximise intelligence opportunities to progress investigations into serious crime.

We are looking for officers with excellent communication skills and an understanding of current investigative methods/tactics and knowledge of Investigatory Powers Act (IPA).

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to SC Enhanced level. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

The post holder will be required to be flexible and be on-call.
