This is an exciting apprenticeship opportunity to join Hampshire Constabulary and Thames Valley Police as a Service Desk Analyst.  You will be working as part of the joint ICT department to provide support, advice and guidance to end users. To develop you as an efficient and effective ICT Service Desk Analyst you will undertake Infrastructure Technician level 3 apprenticeship. You will receive structured off the job development, supported by workplace learning and mentoring.

As your role develops your main responsibilities and duties will be:

• Provide first line support for any information technology issues and problems

• Provide assistance by phone, email and/or using a ticket management system

• Track issues to resolution

• Update the internal knowledge base with issue resolution details

• Perform password resets

• Support computers, laptops, radios, smart phones and applications

• Maintain user accounts including rights, permissions and systems groups

• Escalate problems as required to Tier 2 and Tier 3 support teams

• Quickly and accurately determine incident scope and impact

• Follow up on tickets at pre-defined intervals until resolved

• Act as a liaison between customers and technical escalation teams

The successful applicant will be 18 years or older and possess a good standard of education (a minimum of 5 GCSEs Grades A-C/9-4, one of which must in an IT related subject), alongside an interest in Information Communication Technology. Good interpersonal and communication skills are required along with the ability to problem solve and think logically in a fast paced environment.

The apprenticeship is aimed at those who are not experienced as an ICT Service Desk Analyst and/or have not achieved qualifications in this field.
