A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Intelligence Assessor to join the Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) team in the Fixed Intelligence Management Unit (FIMU). And applications are invited from Constables to work at the heart of counter terrorism policing.

As an Intelligence Assessor within the FIMU you will be responsible for receiving, assessing and evaluating intelligence. You will have an ability to gather information / intelligence to inform decision making and you will take ownership of tasking and prioritise any immediate actions based on the threat and risk presented in order to identify further intelligence or evidential opportunities and mitigate any identified threat.

You will be able to problem solve in conjunction with partners and will act as a conduit for the two-way flow of overt, sensitive and secret information. This means that you will manage intelligence leads for live operations across the South East and will contribute to the development of strategic and tactical intelligence assessments, target and problem profiles and other National Intelligence Model products.

Ideally the successful applicant will have Counter Terrorism experience with proven experience within an intelligence environment, however applications are also encouraged from officers with a sound investigative background and a willingness to learn as full training will be provided. You will also have potential to undertake sensitive high profile enquiries with limited supervision and therefore high standards of integrity and professionalism are required combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

CTP SE and SEROCU are committed to becoming the most diverse team in the South East. We encourage interest and applications from candidates of all backgrounds and particularly welcome applications from female and BAME (black, Asian and minority ethic) candidates to enable us to truly reflect the communities we serve.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetting (DV) level. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home and providing an on call capability.

Please note this role is initially based Near Gatwick. We will be vacating our current premises by Autumn 2022, and roles will move to alternative sites. Detailed planning work is ongoing to identify interim and long term options, which will include planning for growth and development of Counter Terrorism Policing in the South East into the future.

Hampshire officers need to complete an AD277 alongside their application.
