The Digital Forensics Unit supports all the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) capabilities with the routine recovery of digital evidence from a range of devices. Our team offer highly digital specialist services to the South East Region and Forces. 

As a Police Constable in the Digital Forensic Unit, you will conduct forensic digital examinations within investigations and operations into the most serious incidents of organised criminal activity.  The successful candidate will gather and distribute relevant and quality intelligence and provide technical advice and assistance to officers and staff engaged in the investigation of organised crime.

This role requires the post holder to interact with both internal and external agencies, therefore you must be a good communicator and with effective team working skills. We are seeking to appoint a candidate with good analytical skills and proven experience of managing statistical information. You must be able to work under pressure.

This role is currently based in Whitchurch however is currently in scope to move to the new SEROCU Headquarters near M4 Junction 12. This is an exciting opportunity for the growth and development of SEROCU, and detailed planning work is ongoing.  This change is expected to take place in the early part of 2022.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. Therefore a full UK driving licence is considered essential to the role. 

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to an enhanced level.  In line with Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), candidates who fail to hold, acquire or maintain this vetting level cannot be offered the post.
