Our Counter Terrorism Policing South East Prevent team focus on identifying, safeguarding and preventing those who are vulnerable to be drawn towards terrorism. 

This is an exciting role where you will help deliver the policing mission within the national Counter Terrorism Strategy (CONTEST) and discharge its Prevent Duty requirements.

The successful candidate will work with internal and external partners to manage Prevent relevant risks.

This is an exciting role where the officer will case manage, task, co-ordinate and have performance oversight on the delivery of Prevent Case Management (PCM).

The post holder will be responsible for supervising a team of Counter Terrorism Case Officers (CTCOs). This may include supervising officers and staff across the region when needed.

We welcome applications from substantive Police/Detective Sergeants and Police/Detective Constables suitably qualified to apply for promotion.  

We are seeking a candidate with excellent interpersonal skills and experience in leading safeguarding, early intervention and problem solving policing operations.

As well as supervising cases through Channel, the role may require utilising disruptive tactics for cases not appropriate for Channel and in the Police Led Partnership space.

Officers applying on promotion should submit a ‘Why Me, Why Now’ letter which outlines your motivation and suitability for the role at this time. Your evidence should also demonstrate the relevant behaviours, skills, knowledge and experience in relation to your capability at this rank in accordance with the core competencies (CVF) Step up Criteria. The letter must be no more than two (2) sides of A4. The margins must not be modified from 2.54cm. All evidence outside the margins should be removed.
