The Organisation/Department

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department is a shared function that provides services for all information technology, communications devices and applications across Hampshire Constabulary and Thames Valley Police while collaborating closely with our neighbouring South Easterly regionally integrated forces (SERIP) and adhering to national directives.

 

The Team

The Orchestration Team is a new addition to ICT and demonstrates the focus on continual service improvement. The team consists of Operations, Reporting & Tools, Service Introduction and Software & Asset Management. All of which have the vital role of supporting ICT in delivering & improving services to the forces.

 

The Role

The Operations Analyst role is critical to ensuring that service availability is kept to the highest level with minimum impact to service. You will be responsible for monitoring & maintaining the services provided to both forces ensuring that alerts are managed proactively along with spotting any pattern or trends occurring that could indicate a potential issue. The role also looks for automation opportunities where you will be empowered to deliver this automation utilising the current tools within the department. You will need to be self-motivated, driven, have a proactive approach and enjoy analysing for potential patterns and trends as well as problem solving.

 

The key requirements for this role are:

 

  • Knowledge of monitoring tools including Azure, ServiceNow, Solarwinds, SCOM & SCCM
  • A proactive and analytical approach with a technical background of supporting on both premises & cloud services.
  • An understanding of Microsoft Server technologies as well as knowledge of virtualisation.
  • Knowledge of ITIL incident, event & access management processes and best practices
  • Must have capability to travel to different locations across the Forces, partner sites and suppliers and undertake all assignments in a timely manner. For this reason, a full UK driving licence is considered essential.

 

This role could be carried out remotely, with the occasional requirement for travel to Hampshire Constabulary and Thames Valley Police offices.
