We welcome applications from substantive Constables and Detective Constables for an exciting opportunity to join our Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTP SE) Prevent team.

In this role, you will support the Prevent strand of CONTEST by connecting counterterrorism policing, neighbourhood policing and communities.

You will be maintain responsibility for Prevent Case Management (PCM) enquiries, conducting vulnerability assessments; de-brief interviews and delivery of PCM tactics at the direction of the SIO. Through engagement, you will signpost individuals vulnerable to radicalisation into appropriate support mechanisms, such as Channel.

You will work collaboratively with Prevent partners in local authorities, schools; higher and further educational institutions, faith institutions and organisations, the health sector, the prison and probation service.

The successful applicant will have experience and understanding of partnership working and working with diverse communities. You will also have a good understanding of Prevent.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to enhanced level. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.
