We welcome applications from substantive Detective Sergeants and Detective Constables for a secondment/acting opportunity with the SEROCU Sensitive Intelligence Unit (SIU).

The role is designed to support the gateway and single point of entry function within the Sensitive Intelligence Unit of SEROCU. You will manage the triage system within the ROCU gateway team, assessing requests for capabilities or ROCU support and providing expert advice. You will support the assessment and management of OCG’s.

You will act as single point of entry and supervise information being sent to and from the ROCU in relation to investigations and operations in an auditable manner.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to enhanced level. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. Applicants will also be asked to undergo psychological screening for this role.
