In this role through the provision of high quality tactical and strategic analysis you will inform, advise and assist decision makers / Senior Police Officers to solve problems, assess and mitigate threat, risk and harm.  You will promote an intelligence-led culture with recommendations to drive day-to-day business and the CTPSE Control Strategy.

Through the use of structured analytical techniques (SATs), and the use of analytical vocabulary you will provide assessments of activities of individuals / groups to establish the dimensions of the threat posed.  You will evaluate the significance of patterns and trends and assess threat, harm and risk to the standard defined within the National Intelligence Model. Providing an efficient and effective service to support managerial, operational and investigative decision making.

With substantive current role-related experience as an Analyst in a police environment/partnership agency with excellent understanding of the National Intelligence Model (NIM), you will have a relevant professional qualification and completion of the National Intelligence Analyst training or otherwise demonstrate the technical and behavioural competence to meet the standards required to achieve professional competence in Intelligence Analysis.  You will be IT literate and have excellent interpersonal/communication, research and problem-solving skills. 

On occasion the post holder may be required to work flexible hours or at a different location to suit operational requirements. The successful candidate will be vetted to a Developed Vetting (DV) level.

For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or acquire the appropriate security clearances (which may include STRAP) and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. As such, in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.
