INTERNAL/EXTERNAL VACANCY

In this new role you will manage delivery of the services and associated functions undertaken by the Maintenance Helpdesk whilst providing technical support to the Maintenance Team’s Building Services (Electrical and Mechanical) and Building Surveying functions. Duties will include managing the Helpdesk functions and services, responding to queries, identifying budget requirements and managing the Customer Services Officer.

The successful candidate will have a recognised qualification in an engineering discipline such as BTEC, HNC, HND or equivalent and have a broad knowledge of engineering building services disciplines and be fully conversant with Health and Safety legislation. You will have a working knowledge of general construction and a good understanding of building fabric maintenance. Previous experience of managing projects and maintenance of engineering services installations within occupied buildings is required along with experience of planning and implementing complex programmes of maintenance work.

A good knowledge of all legislation and regulations relating to building engineering services is required with experience of working with consultants and managing contractors. Experience of managing staff and setting objectives, monitoring performance and addressing training and development needs is required. The successful candidate will be competent in Microsoft Office applications including the creation of Excel spreadsheets. A full driving licence is considered essential as capability to travel across the Force is required in order to undertake assignments in a timely manner and work flexibly.
