We are looking for either experienced individuals or those with the potential to develop into leaders. In this exciting role you will lead, train and develop the analytical team. You will provide specialist analytical advice to investigating officers and manage expectations through the promotion of analysis. You will prioritise workloads in accordance with the regional priorities and the Delivery Plan.

You will lead and manage multiple project portfolios within the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU), across the SE region, the ROCU network and SOC partners. You will manage relationships with stakeholders, engage with a range of partners in order to deliver the regional coordination of the response to serious and organised crime. As Lead Intelligence Analyst you will be expected to be omni-competent and will be leading both Strategic and Tactical Analysis for the ROCU. You will be expected to be adaptable and dynamic alongside managing and developing multiple teams of analysts. The Lead Intelligence Analyst is also responsible for the production of SEROCU’s Strategic Assessment. You will also need to deputise for the Strategic Intelligence Manager and attend internal and external meetings including the Strategic Governance Groups.

You will have transferable role-related experience as an analyst or leader in a police or law enforcement partner environment with excellent understanding of the National Intelligence Model (NIM). Experience of delivering intelligence products, analytical techniques and methodology and specialist software is also essential to the role. You will have relevant professional qualification and completion of recognised Analysis Training e.g. NIAT, GIAT or other relevant analytical training. You will also have excellent communication skills, experience leading projects and managing/developing people.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetting (DV) level. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.
