We welcome applications from substantive Detective Sergeants and Detective Constables seeking promotion, for an exciting opportunity with the SEROCU Sensitive Intelligence Unit (SIU).

The role is designed to support the gateway and single point of entry function within the Sensitive Intelligence Unit of SEROCU by providing specialist advice as to the capabilities within the ROCU

You will provide expert advice to LRO’s and SIO’s as to the range of capabilities within the ROCU and how to access them. Where tactics are particularly sensitive to access those on behalf of the SIO, you will manage the interaction with the SIU to disseminate results. You will also manage the triage system within the ROCU gateway team, assessing requests for capabilities or ROCU support and providing expert advice. You will act as single point of entry and supervise information being sent to and from the ROCU in relation to investigations and operations in an auditable manner.

SEROCU are committed to becoming the most diverse team in the South East. We encourage interest and applications from candidates of all backgrounds and particularly welcome applications from female and BAME (black, Asian and minority ethic) candidates to enable us to truly reflect the communities we serve.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetting (DV) level. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.

All vacancies of Sergeant and above are advertised to substantive and on promotion applicants at the same time; there are different application requirements for Substantive Officers and those Officers applying for Promotion. If you wish to apply you need to have support from Head of Command / Department. Hampshire officers need to complete an AD277 alongside their application.
