We welcome applications from substantive Sergeants and Constables qualified to apply for promotion with Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) Fixed Intelligence Management Unit (FIMU).

You will provide supervision guidance and leadership in the Counter Terrorism (CT) Intelligence Management Unit, ensuring the professional and consistent management and quality control of all intelligence and information that enters and leaves the CT Intelligence Management Unit. You will also be responsible for supervising the development of intelligence to manage threat and risk in relation to matters within the CT remit.

You will have experience in the broad field of intelligence supervision including risk management, as well as excellent communication/interpersonal and leadership skills. You must be able to work under pressure with effective time management skills. If not already held, you will have support to complete ICIDP (Detectives) accreditation whilst in the post.

We are committed to becoming the most diverse team in the South East. We encourage interest and applications from candidates of all backgrounds and particularly welcome applications from female and BAME (black, Asian and minority ethic) candidates to enable us to truly reflect the communities we serve.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetting (DV) level. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

Our Intelligence department operates 24/7 and supervisor roles are expected to support the provision of an on call function. There is an expectation that while this role is allocated to a post with a specific brief and detailed knowledge is required, it is also expected that the post holder maintains a broad overview of the wider CT remit, context and priorities. The brief will change according to the operational priorities of the Department.

Please note this role is initially based Near Gatwick. We will be vacating our current premises by Autumn 2022, and roles will move to alternative sites. Detailed planning work is ongoing to identify interim and long term options, which will include planning for growth and development of Counter Terrorism Policing in the South East into the future.
