Full package - Band 4I, circa £42,213 per annum, plus 13% shift allowance, plus 10% criticality allowance, plus 5% on-call allowance, plus benefits. 

Thames Valley Police (TVP) is making a significant, multi-year investment in our Forensic Services and is transforming our wide array of forensic disciplines as well as crime scene investigation, to create a forward looking, accredited service which delivers proportionate, timely services that support effective crime investigation for TVP and other external organisations. Our investment includes developing our people, making best use of technology and creating a Centre of Excellence for the future:

As a key decision maker, you will drive forward continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to the operational performance of the CSI team and its compliance with the Forensic Science Regulator’s Codes. You will assist in the roll-out and compliance of standards as set out within ISO: 17020 Accreditation for Volume Crime Scene Examination activities in the CSI hub that you will manage (and in time expanding the scope of accreditation to cover Serious and Major Crime Investigations.)

The successful candidate will already possess substantial and wide-ranging CSI experience and have a significant knowledge of the application of forensic science and crime scene management principles in order to support investigations. They will also possess leadership skills in order to supervise a team of CSIs and support staff and the ability to influence and build good business relationships with local stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake the established psychological screening process. 

Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice.
