SEROCU leads the response across the region to the risk posed by serious and organised crime in Hampshire, Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Thames Valley. It is committed to relentlessly disrupting these risks by using its 13 capabilities and by partnership working with the National Crime Agency, Forces and other partners.

SEROCU provides the vital link from national capabilities and expertise to local policing and knowledge, enabling the South East region to deliver the government’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy and to protect communities from harm.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrative Support Officer to work within the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU). You will also provide   a comprehensive and flexible administrative support and confidential secretarial services to the Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU) with specific assistance given to the Assistant Chief Officer (ACC), Head of ROCU and their Senior Management Teams (SLTs).

You will manage SLT diaries to ensure effective timetabling and co-ordination of activities. You will ensure the provision of a high quality customer focussed service to both internal and external customers of the South East Region. You will be required to take minutes of meetings of a complex, confidential and often technical nature in support of various meetings.

The successful applicant will be a confident communicator at all levels with a good standard of education. You will have excellent literacy and numeracy skills and a significant professional administrative experience. You will be IT literate and have proven ability to take minutes having attained RSA III or equivalent. You may be working towards or attained NVQ Customer Service Level 2 or equivalent. You must have proven ability to work to deadlines, handle diverse information, manage a substantial workload and solve problems with minimum supervision.

You may be required to travel for business purposes on occasion and demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours, and you must be prepared to be security cleared to an enhanced level.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner. Thames Valley Police will allow applicants to apply who do not necessarily reach the criteria as long as they have proven UK residency and supporting evidence where necessary.
