Forensic Submissions Administration Team Leader (Secondment/Fixed Term Contract)
Secondment/Fixed Term Contract for 12 months commencing 14th April.
Thames Valley Police (TVP) is making a significant, multi-year investment in our Forensic Services and is transforming our wide array of forensic disciplines as well as crime scene investigation, to create a forward looking, accredited service which delivers proportionate, timely services that support effective crime investigation for TVP and other external organisations.
This fixed term role is to cover maternity leave.
The overall purpose of the role is to maintain efficient administrative support within the Forensic Submissions Team by providing daily supervision and line management to two small teams of Forensic Administrators and to assist the Forensic Marketplace and Submissions Manager in managing the unit’s workload.
In this interesting role you will lead and support the teams within the Forensic Investigation Unit (FIU), ensuring the integrity and continuity of forensic / biometric evidence and presenting a professional interface between FIU and its customers in support of the organisational requirement to secure detections and convictions.
In addition to line management responsibilities, the duties will include processing DNA match reports and providing support to the Forensic Submissions Officers, the handling, quality assurance, documenting and recording onto computerised systems of forensic exhibits, including biometric samples and updating the results achieved.
You will have recent experience of working in a supervisory and administrative role, working to deadlines along with proven computer skills and the ability to interrogate and accurately input data from a variety of sources. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work as part of a team.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake the established psychological screening process and an enhanced level of vetting.
