We welcome applications from substantive Constables and Detective Constables for an exciting opportunity to join our Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTP SE) Prevent team.

You will support the Prevent strand of CONTEST by connecting counterterrorism policing, neighbourhood policing and communities. You maintain responsibility for Prevent Case Management (PCM) enquiries, conduct vulnerability assessments; de-brief interviews and ensure delivery of PCM tactics at the direction of the Senior Investigating Officer (SIO).

Through engagement, you will signpost individuals vulnerable to radicalisation into appropriate support mechanisms, such as Channel. You will work collaboratively with Prevent partners in local authorities, schools; educational institutions, faith institutions and other organisations.

CTP SE are committed to becoming the most diverse team in the South East. We encourage interest and applications from candidates of all backgrounds and particularly welcome applications from female and BAME (black, Asian and minority ethic) candidates to enable us to truly reflect the communities we serve.

Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.

Applicants will be required to complete the Recommendation for Appointment form enclosed with this advert.
