We welcome applications from substantive Detective Constables for an exciting opportunity to join our Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTP SE) as a Field Intelligence Officer (FIO).

You will undertake proactive and reactive intelligence investigations in relation to terrorism and extremist criminal activity. You will assess, collate, analyse and develop intelligence pertaining to National Security and International terrorism.

As a FIO, you will provide a central hub of intelligence support and expertise to the CTP SE investigations unit during CT investigation.

You will be PIP2 accredited. You will also have broad policing experience with particular emphasis on complex investigations and/or intelligence work. Excellent communication/interpersonal skills is a must. No specific CT experience is required

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetting (DV) level. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.
