Thames Valley Police covers a wide geographical area including Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire with a unique mix of urban and rural policing. We currently have opportunities to re-join in the Berkshire and Buckinghamshire Local Policing Area's (LPA's).

To be eligible to re-join Thames Valley Police, you must have previously completed your two year probationary period and have been confirmed as a substantive Constable.
The next intake for officers to re-join has been confirmed as 13th January 2020 and the one after this will be the 23rd March 2020. We have other proposed intakes planned throughout 2020 which are yet to be confirmed. Please note that any pre booked annual leave cannot be honoured under any circumstances. You may request leave once you have completed the two week induction course.
All Officers must attend a two week induction course at our Police Training Centre in Sulhamstead nr Reading. Accommodation is available.

All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner. Thames Valley Police will allow applicants to apply who do not necessarily reach the criteria as long as they have proven UK residency and supporting evidence where necessary. Applications will be considered on a case by case basis.
