Problem Solving Analyst (Fixed Term Contract/Secondment)
Fixed Term Contract/Secondment until 31st March 2021
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Problem Solving Analyst to provide analytical support to LPAs to assist in the identification of areas of crime patterns and emerging trends, which will allow OCUs and / or LPA teams to have more in-depth understanding of issues in their areas and will provide assistance to them in completing OSARA packages and carrying out policing experiments.
You will analyse a wide range of data from a variety of sources to assist in the creation of OSARA packages. Re-evaluate current data and continually update charts and reports to take into account new information or intelligence. Present the results of analysis in appropriate format and produce a report outlining recommendations to accompany analytical techniques. Identify discrepancies and highlight information gaps that resources can be focused to in order to drive business activity. To help provide focus for policing activity that will enable tasking activity to deter crime and where crime has occurred help maximise positive outcomes with the support of analytical products.
The successful candidate will have proven research and analytical skills with ability to think strategically and problem solve and be able to demonstrate a methodical approach to analysis and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail. You will also have excellent report writing and presentation skills with a good understanding of evidence based policing.
