An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for the CT Policing National Operations Centre within Counter Terrorism Policing Unit in the South East (CTP SE), as a Lead for CT Border Policing Services.

Working for Counter Terrorism Policing is a job like no other and you will be working with teams locally, regionally and nationally tackling the most serious crimes. Despite the scale of the geography there is a real one-team ethos and plenty of opportunity for development within the unit.

The aim of this role is to lead and motivate staff across the CT Border Policing network comprising of two units in the SE and another centrally, at times providing supervisory oversight for the remaining units located in the North West as part of the CTBPS supervisory team. You will provide and maintain an efficient and effective service across the CT Border Policing network.

You should have substantial experience of leading a unit or department, strategic and operational experience of managing change, including recruitment and inclusive staff association engagement.

The ability to make assessments and time critical decisions providing the necessary rationale, and the ability to demonstrate a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail is essential for this post. This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. You should be willing to travel within or outside of the UK as necessary possessing a current passport. The possession of a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business purposes is also essential.

You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared and able to obtain and retain security clearance to SC Enhanced level.

This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.
