We are looking for Prevent Officer to join the Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTP SE) Prevent Team. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity where you will support the Prevent strand of CONTEST by connecting counterterrorism policing, neighbourhood policing and communities.

You will work with internal and external partners to develop and deliver local Prevent action as well as working to sign post individuals vulnerable to radicalisation. You will coordinate the delivery of Prevent across the wider policing family and support front line staff and acting as community contact for any counter terrorism consequence management issues.

You will manage the workload through Prevent Case Management enquiries conducting vulnerability assessments. Please refer to the Job Description enclosed with the Job Advert for further details of role, knowledge, skill and experience requirements.

CTP SE and SEROCU are committed to becoming the most diverse team in the South East. We encourage interest and applications from candidates of all backgrounds and particularly welcome applications from female and BAME (black, Asian and minority ethic) candidates to enable us to truly reflect the communities we serve

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to enhanced level. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.

We expect interviews to take place the week commencing 17th June 2019.

Applications must be submitted by the closing date of 23:55hrs on Sunday 9th June 2019.
