The role

 

In this role you will be involved in design, planning, delivery, implementation and support of infrastructure services within the Joint ICT Department of Hampshire and Thames Valley Police. You will be taking the lead on complex design and installation projects undertaking peer review including architectural review and quality assurance boards to help drive the innovation and adoption of cloud solutions and services within Joint ICT. As a senior team member, you will be required to help mentor and act as a technical escalation point for Systems Engineers to assist resolving hardware and software problems. You will be required to ensure that operational problems are identified and resolved to support delivery of agreed service levels, within the ITIL framework providing outstanding customer service and outcomes to our customers. You will need to have packaging expertise for Windows 8.1/Windows 10 / Office 365 environment. The successful applicant needs to have packaged numerous applications using Microsoft App-V and MSI technologies.

 

Essential skills required:

 

  • Windows 8.1
  • Windows 10 1709 or above
  • App-V 5.0/5.1 Sequencing – including scripting in VB script and or PowerShell, experience of creating Connection Groups / SCCM Virtual Environments
  • MSI packaging – familiar with creating well-authored, self-repairing MSIs and MSTs using AdminStudio / InstallShield 2015, Orca, InstEd. Creating custom actions, good awareness of Component rules, Feature construction, etc.
  • Microsoft SCCM 2012 RS2 / SCCM 1806 – experienced in creating Collections, Deployments, Applications, Packages, and Task Sequences
  • Active Directory usage, Group Policy creation / comprehension

 

Desirable skills :

 

  • Managing applications with AppLocker
  • Microsoft UE-V templates
  • SCCM Software Updates
  • Appsense/Ivanti Environment and Application Manager 8.5 or above
