An exciting opportunity has arisen for Accredited Financial Investigator to join our Financial Investigations team, part of Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTP SE). You will undertake proactive and reactive financial investigations with a view to establishing funding or other links to terrorist or extremist organisations

The role includes identifying and recording intelligence generated from allocated investigations for dissemination as appropriate, and identifying and seeking evidence of funding or financially facilitating terrorist or extremist activities. You will receive, research and analyse confidential financial disclosures from Intelligence sources, identifying, monitoring, maintaining relevant databases and making recommendations as to appropriate further actions.

You will have experience in a police environment or partnership agency with understanding of the National Intelligence Model and experience of delivering intelligence products. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills and proven research skills with the ability to problem solve.

You must be willing and able to successfully complete a series of CT training courses in financial investigation (CT and POCA if unqualified) through mentoring to full national accreditation.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. Public transport may not be available or suitable, for this reason a full UK driving licence is considered essential.

CTP SE and SEROCU are committed to becoming the most diverse team in the South East. We encourage interest and applications from candidates of all backgrounds and particularly welcome applications from female and BAME (black, Asian and minority ethic) candidates to enable us to truly reflect the communities we serve.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to developed level

Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.
