In this exciting role, you will maintain and enhance the covert capability of Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTP SE) by managing the covert infrastructure to the requisite standard in line with auditing guidelines and relevant regulations and policies. This will include the covert infrastructure of covert identities, companies, bank accounts, assets and equipment.

You will ensure that all relevant security policies are adhered to and propose and implement improvements that enhance security. You will also be responsible for managing budgets for covert facilities and assets, reconciling spend against covert operational activity. You will also maintain effective liaison and develop efficient working practices with key stakeholders within CTP SE at a local, regional and national level.

You will have proven and well evidence experience in a policing environment (or similar security context) with a good understanding of operating procedures and systems. Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and proven awareness of security implications and confidentiality are essential to the role.

CTP SE are committed to becoming the most diverse team in the South East. We encourage interest and applications from candidates of all backgrounds and particularly welcome applications from female and BAME (black, Asian and minority ethic) candidates to enable us to truly reflect the communities we serve.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetting (DV) level. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. For this reason a full UK Driving Licence is essential to the role.
