An exciting opportunity has arisen to play a key role in the development of a new ICT Team embedded within Counter Terrorism Policing in the South East (CTPSE).

Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) is a collaboration of the five South East police forces, and works with the UK Intelligence community to help protect the public and our national security by preventing. Deterring and investigation terrorist activity. The unit is in the process of setting up a new ICT team, and we are really pleased to advertise the opportunity to form part of this new and exciting team.

In this role you will manage the CTPSE IT Team and infrastructure, providing technical expertise in the implementation and maintenance of the CTPSE network across the region, in partnership with local forces, the national CT Policing Network, and other specialists and stakeholders. You also will have the opportunity to support and manage key projects and programmes in line with the CONTEST strategy. In short; you and your team will be responsible for keeping CTPSE connected to enable the unit to deliver its vital services.

The successful candidate will be qualified to at least degree level in the IT discipline, have experience in managing IT projects, and will have experience of delivering IT services in a similarly complex environment. It is essential that you have the flexibility to travel across the South East region as need arises, and therefore a UK driving licence is considered essential.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetted (DV) level.

Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.
