Applications are invited from substantive Constables and Detective Constables to join the Prevent team, as part of Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTP SE). You will support the Prevent strand of CONTEST by connecting counterterrorism policing, neighbourhood policing and communities.

You will maintain responsibility for Police Led enquiries, conducting vulnerability assessments; de-brief interviews and delivery of Police Led tactics at the direction of the SIO. Through engagement, signpost individuals vulnerable to radicalisation into appropriate support mechanisms, such as Channel.  

You will work collaboratively with Prevent partners in local authorities, schools; higher and further educational institutions, faith institutions and organisations, the health sector, the prison and probation service. You will gather and disseminate information, including on community tensions relating to CT issues, identifying joint action to address any issues

The successful applicant will have an understanding of the Prevent strategy and knowledge of the Counter Terrorism & Securities Act 2015. You will have experience   and understanding of working with diverse communities and of partnership working. You must be a competent user of Force IT and intelligence applications.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. You must be prepared to be security cleared to an enhanced level.

For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or acquire the appropriate security clearances (which may include STRAP) and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals.
