Applications are invited for the role of Administrative Support Assistant. The successful applicant will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive and flexible administrative support and secretarial service to the Operational Command Unit. Departmental work is of a sensitive and confidential nature.  

The successful candidate will support senior managers in day-to-day diary management, arrange and minute meetings as directed. It is essential that you have proven and recent experience of producing accurate minutes in an administrative role as this forms the core duties for this role. In addition you will undertake administrative tasks as part of the joint administrative team such as receiving and assessing incoming mail and telephone calls, responsibility for stationery ordering, booking travel and accommodation, etc. 

A good standard of education (RSA II or equivalent), excellent literacy and numeric skills and good communication skills at all levels (e.g. NVQ L1 in Administration/Customer Services or recent experience in a similar environment) are required. It is essential that you have proven interpersonal skills and the ability to promote professional working relationships with personnel at all levels. This skill will have been developed in a demanding office environment where you will have regularly demonstrated multi-tasking, enthusiasm, initiative and flexibility.  

Please note that this role will require you to travel across the Thames Valley area to provide administrative support at different locations within the Force. 

Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.
