We are looking for Intelligence Analysts to join our Intelligence team, part of the Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTP SE).

Through the provision of high quality tactical and strategic analysis you will inform, advise and assist decision makers / Senior Police Officers to solve problems, assess and mitigate threat, risk and harm.  Through the use of structured analytical techniques (SATs), and the use of analytical vocabulary you will provide assessments of activities of individuals / groups to establish the dimensions of the threat posed.  You will evaluate the significance of patterns and trends and assess threat, harm and risk to the standard defined within the National Intelligence Model. Providing an efficient and effective service to support managerial, operational and investigative decision making. You will make recommendations to drive business activity and assess threat harm and risk.

The successful applicant will have substantial current role-related experience as an analyst in a police environment / partnership agency with excellent understanding of the National Intelligence Model. You will have experience of delivering intelligence products, crime analysis tools, methodology and specialist software. Relevant professional qualification and completion of the National Intelligence Analysis Training, IBM I2 Analyst notebooks/i Base course and Core Skills in Communications data / CD data course or otherwise demonstrate the technical and behavioural competence to meet the standards required to achieve professional competence in Intelligence Analysis. Excellent communication, personal responsibility and proven research skills as well as the ability to problem solve is a must.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. You must be prepared to be security cleared to an enhanced level.

For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or acquire the appropriate security clearances (which may include STRAP) and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post. As such, in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.
