An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Intelligence Analyst to join our Intelligence team, part of the Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTP SE).

You will provide specialist supervision encompassing regular independent reviews of work and the development of skill profiles of a Research and Analysis team. You will regularly engage with and provide specialist advice to Senior Officers to solve problems, assess and mitigate threat, risk and harm through the timely negotiation, authorisation, production, quality assurance and appropriate handling and dissemination of research and analytical products. You will promote analysis and prioritise workloads in accordance with force and Regional priorities. The post holder will contribute to the identification, development and application of analytical techniques embracing the concept of best practice and encouraging innovation. Integrate and implement force, regional and national guidance within existing frameworks and promote the creative use of structured analytic techniques (SATs) to meet customer needs.

The successful applicant will have substantial current role-related experience as an analyst in a police or partnership agency environment with excellent understanding of the National Intelligence Model. You will have experience of delivering intelligence products, crime analysis tools, methodology and specialist software.

Relevant professional qualification and completion of the National Intelligence Analysis Training; IBM I2 Analyst notebooks / i Base course and Core Skills in Communications data / CD data course are essential to the role. You must have experience of successfully managing and developing people with clear accountability for their performance. Excellent communication and problem solving skills are also a must.  

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. You must be prepared to be security cleared to an enhanced level.

For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or acquire the appropriate security clearances (which may include STRAP) and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. As such, in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.
