As part of the workforce modernisation programme the role of Intelligence Research Officer has been created. In this interesting role you will identify threat, risk and harm likely to impact on the welfare and quality of life to the residents and visitors to the Thames Valley Police area. You will communicate relevant intelligence at daily and operational briefings and update a daily intelligence briefing for the LPAs as well as being tasked to develop the intelligence picture within the LPA, involving work both in and out of the office. The ability to travel freely around the Force area to attend meetings, etc. is therefore essential. 

A good standard of education, including excellent numeracy and literacy skills, is required along with a high level of computer literacy and proven experience of using Microsoft Office applications. It is essential that you have proven research skills with the ability to problem solve along with excellent communication skills both verbal and written. You will also need to be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative with the minimum of supervision whilst still remaining part of a team. 

Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.
