Working on the Emergency Services Mobile Communications Programme across the four forces in South Central (Thames Valley Police and Hampshire Constabulary) and South East (Surrey Police & Sussex Police) Regions. This Programme is part of a National Programme to upgrade the critical Emergency Services Network across the three emergency services in England, Scotland and Wales. This role will involve day to day engagement with senior stakeholders in an operational and technical environment.

The role

 

This role provides a unique opportunity to work in a varied role which requires meeting new people and frequent travel to different locations. Your task will be to develop relationships and interact between the ICT department, senior management and external stakeholders regarding significant future activities impacting on and involving ICT. You will need to identify new and innovative approaches to performing business activities across four forces. You are required to influence the design of business processes and systems to achieve improved performance and cost reduction.

 

 

The essentials

 

• Experience working with business stakeholders, developing and managing stakeholder relationships with ICT experts as required to conduct investigations at a high level to support business strategies. Maintain technical awareness at a level where alternatives can be modelled and business benefits can be predicted.

• ICT BA having delivered ICT service in a similarly complex environment using an industry recognised approaches such as ITIL, Prince and Agile.

• Experience of understanding and articulating how the application of ICT technology impacts the business objectives.

• Experience of achieving significant outcomes through influence and persuasion rather than through direct line authority. Must be a good listener.

• Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to work in a customer focused environment and part of a team.  Must be flexible, adaptable, and able to solve problems while working systematically with little direct supervision.

• Must display great attention to detail and meet tight deadlines.

• Must have capability to travel regularly to different locations across Thames Valley Police, Hampshire Constabulary, Sussex Police and Surrey Police. For this reason a full UK driving licence is considered essential. You will be reimbursed for travel costs during working hours.
