Police Constables and Detective Constables Disruption Coordinator

A number of exciting staff and officer opportunities have arisen within the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) during its formation of the Serious Organised Crime Problem Solving Team. This opportunity is open to Police/Detective Constables.

Led by a Detective Inspector this team will co-ordinate focused activity against high threat Organised Crime offenders impacting on the South East of England.  The team will ensure that forces and other agencies have a strategy against each offender, use the full array of controlling legislative powers, offender management techniques and partnership opportunities. 

On inception the team will have three core elements of MARSOC (Multi-Agency Response to Serious Organised Crime), Disruptions Coordination and SCPO (Serious Crime Prevention Order) Coordination and powers advice.  The team will specialise in an area, but will work across the disciplines, forming an agile group of specialists for policing and partners across the region.  The SCPO element will benefit from an embedded evaluation being conducted on behalf of the Home Office, giving those involved an opportunity to experience their work having an impact on shaping national decisions at a government level.

As a Disruptions Coordinator, working in a team of seven and alongside the ROCU Government Agency Intelligence Network (GAIN) coordinator you will assist in identifying the opportunity for disruptions at all levels whilst tackling organised crime problems. You will make police led disruptions more effective by engaging and securing assistance from partners for operational activity. You will make partnership disruptions more effective by securing police resources for operational activity.

You will bring a focus to organised crime intelligence gathering and disruption to a local policing level through operational teams and act as a hub for best practice sharing throughout the region. You will provide resilience and work in a team approach with the rest of the SOC Problem Solving Team.

We are looking for officers with good communication/interpersonal skills. You must be self-motived and able to work on own initiative. You will have experience in one of more of the following areas; crime investigations, providing formal tactical advice for law enforcement operational planning, planning multiagency operational activity and community intelligence gathering. This experience can be via local Policing and we encourage applications from people from all disciplines to apply including but not exclusive to NHPT, Investigations, Intelligence, Response and Roads Policing.
