In this exciting role, you will coordinate, oversee, deliver and develop the targeting, recruitment and case development of national security CHIS activity within South East region. You will work in collaboration, establish and develop effective working relationships with key intelligence partners.

You will ensure national strategic tasking and local operational tasking are effectively delivered and managed at a regional level.

You will have current experience or willingness to understand CHIS, undercover and covert operations including the ability manage confidential and sensitive information. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential to the role.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetting (DV) level. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. For this reason a full UK driving licence is essential to the role.
