We are looking for an experienced individual or a candidate with the potential to develop into leaders. In this exciting role you will lead, train and develop the analytical team within the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU). You will provide specialist analytical advice to investigating officers and manage expectations through the promotion of analysis. You will prioritise workloads in accordance with the regional priorities and the Delivery Plan.

You will lead and manage multiple project portfolios across the SE region, the ROCU network and SOC partners. You will manage relationships with stakeholders, engage with a range of partners in order to deliver the regional coordination of the response to serious and organised crime. As Lead Intelligence Analyst you will be expected to be omni-competent and will be leading both Strategic and Tactical Analysis for the ROCU. You will be expected to be adaptable and dynamic alongside managing and developing multiple teams of analysts. The Lead Intelligence Analyst is also responsible for the production of SEROCU’s Strategic Assessment. You will also need to deputise for the Head of Analysis and attend internal and external meetings.

You will have transferable role-related experience as an analyst or leader in a police or law enforcement partner environment with excellent understanding of the National Intelligence Model (NIM). Experience of delivering intelligence products, analytical techniques and methodology and specialist software is also essential to the role. You will have relevant professional qualification and completion of recognised Analysis Training e.g. NIAT, GIAT or other relevant analytical training. You will also have excellent communication skills, experience leading projects and managing/developing people.  

In particular, the panel are looking for you to evidence against

  • Substantial current role-related experience as an analyst or leader in a police or law enforcement partner environment with excellent understanding of the National Intelligence Model and experience of delivering intelligence products, analytical techniques and methodology and specialist software.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills. Experience of negotiating and persuading a broad range of stakeholders and partners, including those at senior levels. Ability to deliver presentations, attend and engage in briefings and meetings within a police and partnership environment.
  • Experience of successfully managing and developing people with clear accountability for their performance. Evidence of problem solving; managing and co-ordinating own and others’ workloads, with minimum supervision, prioritising and meeting tight deadlines. Flexible approach to working hours. Able to evidence self-motivation and use of own initiative.
  • Experience of successfully leading projects including business change.

Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence. 

This post requires occasional travel across the South East region and the UK.

Security is of paramount importance to us due to the nature of the role. You need to be a British National and resided in the UK for the past five years for Security Clearance (SC) and ten years for Developed Vetting (DV)  You will be required to successfully pass and maintain the relevant security clearance in order to perform the role.
