Applications are invited from substantive Detective Constables to join the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) to tackle the growing issue of Dark Web Criminality.

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside the South East Regional Cyber Crime unit which has an established reputation for innovation and ground breaking investigations.  This role is within the Darkweb unit, which works closely with National and International partners to tackle criminality on the darkweb.

The successful candidate will undertake reactive and proactive investigations and operations against targets involved in the supply of illicit commodities and services on the Darkweb (cyber-crime, drugs, firearms etc) within the region. The post holder will have experience of dealing with complex investigations including a sound knowledge of disclosure.  By using various techniques and tactics you will identify, attribute and successfully prosecute suspects actively using the Dark Web.  

You will act a centre of excellence and give advice to wider the wider ROCU capabilities and the South East Forces on all matters relating to the Dark Web and cryptocurrency.

The successful candidate will have proven ability to handle intelligence/sensitive information.  It will be desirable if you have computer experience such as computer qualifications or evidenced previous employment within computer or IT industry. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are also essential to the role.
