CTPSE is a specialist regional unit made up of officers and staff from five police forces.  We work with a range of partners to help protect the public and national security by preventing, deterring and investigating terrorist activity. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to shape this agenda as a member of the senior leadership team in CTPSE, developing the work streams that support the Prevent, Prepare, Protect and Pursue strands of the CONTEST strategy.

Specifically, you will manage intelligence processes, collection and protection of sensitive sources in order to support operations and investigations of terrorism. This is a broad portfolio of work which also includes CT Border Policing and the South East Regional Prison Intelligence Team (SERPIT).

We welcome applications from substantive Superintendents and Chief Inspectors suitably qualified and supported to apply for promotion. We are seeking to appoint a candidate who has experience of managing intelligence within NIM including understanding of intelligence processes and protects.  Given the demands of this role, to be successful you will need to have experience of delivering change within a challenging environment, and you will adept at working in partnership with other organisations.

At CTPSE we are committed to better reflect the communities that we serve, and encourage applications from people from all backgrounds.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetting (DV) level.  Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals.  This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.
