Thames Valley Police Transport forms part of Chiltern Transport Consortium, consisting of Bedfordshire Police, Cambridgeshire Constabulary, Civil Nuclear Constabulary, Hertfordshire Constabulary and Thames Valley Police, that means we need skilled professionals ready to dedicate their time to ensure our combined fleet of over 3000 vehicles are always ready for action.

We currently have two vacancies for Motor Vehicle Technicians at Sulhamstead.

As part of a successful professional team you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing mechanical, electrical and electronic components of police vehicles and plant to agreed standards, carry out safety inspections, diagnostic testing and problem solving. You will also attend vehicle breakdowns and complete documentation as required including job sheets, service sheets, time sheets and stores requisitions.

Candidates must have a good standard of education with a relevant City and Guilds, NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification in Motor Vehicle Technology and recent experience working as a Motor Vehicle Technician with manufacturer based training. A valid DVLA licence is considered essential. Your focus will be on quality, health and safety and good organisational and communication skills, both oral and written, you must be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
