We welcome applications from substantive Detective Sergeants and Detective Constables seeking promotion for an exciting opportunity to join our SEROCU Regional Asset Recovery Team (RART).

The SEROCU Regional Asset Recovery Team (RART) is responsible for depriving criminals of their criminal assets and ensuring that they have no capital to reinvest in further criminal enterprise. The purpose of the Unit is to disrupt the flow of criminal finances (e.g. targeting professional enablers) and utilising POCA offences/powers to target the criminal exploits of Serious and Organised criminals.

You will manage the daily operational performance and service delivery of the Regional Asset Recovery Team provide the South East region with effective and professional expertise specific to the requirement of Economic Crime, Asset Recovery and Financial investigation. You will actively manage investigations, from the point of initial case acceptance to conclusion. Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to enhanced level. In line with Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), candidates who fail to hold, acquire or maintain this vetting level cannot be offered the post.

All vacancies of Sergeant and above are advertised to substantive and on promotion applicants at the same time; there are different application requirements for Substantive Officers and those Officers applying for Promotion. Substantive officers will be shortlisted against the essential criteria and should submit an online application form. You will be required to upload your latest PDR (or if no PDR, a recent copy of your CPD record) and a copy of your training record. Thames Valley Police (TVP) Officers will also need to complete and upload the Recommendation for Appointment Form in the ‘Line Managers Approval Form’.

In addition to this information, officers applying on promotion should also submit a ‘Why Me, Why Now’ letter which outlines your motivation and suitability for the role at this time. Your evidence should also demonstrate the relevant behaviours, skills, knowledge and experience in relation to your capability at this rank in accordance with the core competencies (CVF). The letter must be no more than two (2) sides of A4. The margins must not be modified from 2.54cm. All evidence outside the margins should be removed. You will also be required to upload you’re AO/DO Reference Form and latest PDR (including CPD). TVP Officers seeking promotion will not need to upload Recommendation for Appointment Form (enclosed with the Job Advert).
